NH’s Congressman Chris Pappas (D-NH CD1) didn’t have much fight to keep the NH Primary, he was more concerned about sucking up to Biden to enhance his own career than keeping NH’s First In The Nation Primary status.
Pappas could and should have demanded the feeble President Biden leave the race, or at least stand for a real primary election in 2024.
But Pappas doesn’t really have much fight in him. He pretty much follows his ultra-rich donors instructions, wishes, and demands. Those actions and inactions will likely be the focus of Pappas’ general election rather than during his Primary. The Democratic powers that be in NH – the same ones who anointed Biden as the nominee for reelection and folded like a cheap suit regarding the Primary – seem to have anointed Pappas as the Senate nominee.
That will last until those powers that be realize Pappas will be a huge drag on the ticket, and likely make other NH Democrats very vulnerable, and likely to lose.
And it sets the stage for a Progressive backlash in the general election for those who find Pappas unacceptable under any and all conditions and circumstances.
Pappas himself is confessing in his online ads that his race is a toss up. As a candidate he has way more electoral problems than are survivable.
To make matters worse, Pappas’ actions, and inactions, regarding the Primary add to an overwhelming list of huge challenges that Pappas has never shown he has the skill set as a candidate to overcome.
Pappas was a sitting Congressman who just didn’t raise a fuss when we lost the NH primary, and Pappas just didn’t have the courage to tell Biden he looked like a corpse and would hand the election to Trump if he didn’t get out of the race. And when you really look at Pappas’ career, there really isn’t any fight from Pappas unless it’s going to benefit him, personally.
When it comes to fighting for the middle class Pappas looks more like a conscientious objector than a Congressman fighting for his district and it’s interests.
